iPhone Woes

Last night after a wonderful conversation with my mother I decided it was time to update my phone on the computer. It has been months since it has received the latest update and so I thought it was a good time. I plugged it into the computer and preceded to update my iPhone. About 10 minutes later my computer popped up a message that read something like "Update unsuccessful, iPhone going into recovery mode" What???? Then I look down at my phone and this is what I see........

This is the only screen that will show up... I can't even turn the darn thing off now. So I plug it back into the computer and the computer alerts me that an iPhone in recovery mode is detected. Are you kidding? So I press the recovery button on the computer to see what will happen. It asks me if I want to proceed- because by doing so I will loose ALL data stored on my phone and it will be restored to factory settings. I don't want to do this! Ugh. Now I have an appointment for this afternoon with the apple store. I sure hope they can fix this without me having to delete everything I have.

It is sad how attached I have become to this thing. Without it, I have gotten onto the computer again. You will find that as well as updating this blog, I have been on facebook and even chatted with people. Maybe this is a good thing too... but I want my phone back....

Thank you everyone!

I went and they were able to unlock whatever problem made that error screen show up. They told me that I needed to go directly home and back everything up and then restore the original settings. At least I have the ability to back it up before I restore it though! Lets hope it turns out well!

Love/hate relationship between humans and technology-when it works its awesome, but when it doesn't we want to tear our hair out! Good luck!
